We’ve been in Lisbon for 5 months!

En route to Lisbon with all our stuff!

And here is the little battery powered speaker I’ve been playing it through.

Jamming with friends in the park! The bass and drums are coming from my little keyboard.

Playing “Moondance” with new friends Eimear (from Ireland) and Greg (from Russia).

The whole voyage went off without a hitch until we arrived in Lisbon and I was rolling this mountain of luggage (with the cats at the top inside those carriers) out of the airport toward the cab that would take us to our apartment. The front wheels of the cart hit a crack in the pavement and the cats went flying! Thankfully no one was injured.

They love to get high!

Here is Cameron passed out in another favorite spot, on top of the hamper in the bedroom.

It was a very musical party. The guitar was being passed around during dinner.

My very international funk band. From left to right: Joao from Portugal, Kyle from USA, Julien from France, Alexandre from Argentina and Larry from Peru.

On top of the Estrela Basilica (a big old church).

Hiking along the Atlantic coast with our friend Bill from Nashville.

Leslie has taken to feeding the pigeons, chickens and peacocks in another park near our apartment.

At a wedding party with new friends!

So she brought her home, cleaned her up and fed her by hand. Now she is growing fat and happy in an animal sanctuary in a nearby town.

Here she is that safe space.

The view of the park from Leslie’s desk. You can see the kid’s playscape and the “quiosque” where you can always buy coffee, beer, pastries, etc, framed by the massive aquaduct.

Diana has been our problem child. She has been peeing outside of her litter box. We believe it is due to anxiety. In an effort to give her an additional safe space in the apartment, we made these cat stairs so she could climb to the top of the kitchen cabinets.

That’s all for now. Love you and miss you!

Kyle

Jamming with friends in one of our favorite spots under a massive “rubber fig” tree.

Because of Diana’s pee problem, we have been putting a tarp over the couch at night to protect it. Thankfully, Cameron hasn’t noticed any decrease in comfort.

I’ve been playing lots of music! Here is the little keyboard I’ve been playing all over town. Diana is helping me practice.

Even the cats got passports!

Bill and I in the nearby town of Azenhas Do Mar.

Bill and I looking out over the Atlantic from the very most western point in all of Europe.

These birds are not shy! Here is our favorite chicken “Chickpea” eating from my hand.

The peacocks are always hanging out, but it’s kind of rare to see them actually “peacocking.” Here’s some footage we got of one showing off!

One day Leslie found this malnourished chick with a “scissor beak” that didn’t close properly.

On Leslie’s birthday, we walked along the beach and witnessed an incredible sunset.

Here we are with more friends on a sunset cruise of the Tagus river.

Here I am sitting on the tree’s massive roots, playing my keyboard.
