We’ve been in Lisbon for 10 months now!

Here’s a shot of the city at night from one of the many scenic lookouts called “Miradouros.”

I’ve been playing lots of music with my band, The Eimear Reavey Trio, named for our very talented lead singer Eimear (from Ireland!). Our guitar player Greg is from Russia. Here we are playing the beautiful jazz standard “At Last.”

Here we are playing our first show at a restaurant overlooking the Tagus river.

Greg has become one of my best friends here in Lisbon. Here is a shot of us in the street just before performing at an open mic.

Here I captured some interesting footage of two men repairing the cobblestone in the park outside our apartment window. As you can see, they use an age old two man technique in which on man places and taps in each stone while the other smokes a cigarette and checks his phone.

Mom and Dad came to visit in September. Here we are standing in front of a big statue that celebrates Portugal’s most historic navigators.

Here is some footage that Dad shot when they were visiting. This is the park across from our apartment, full of life as usual. You can see me, Leslie and Diane.

We’ve enjoyed a couple of beautiful sunset sailboat tours since we got here.

Here I am doing my best to look like I own the boat!

A very artsy shot taken by Leslie of Dad observing the sunset from the front of the sailboat.

Here is some footage of Mom and I walking through the botanical gardens in the nearby town of Sintra.

Here I am attempting to play an Indian Bansuri flute at an outdoor market. Leslie bought the flute for me and I intend to develop a deep passion for it one of these days.

The kids in the tree behind us are some of Leslie’s former piano students who we met up with during their family trip to Lisbon.

I’ve saved the cat related material for last:

Our friend Butters the dog stayed with us while his mom was away. He was very nice with the cats. Here is Diana eyeing him suspiciously as he sheepishly joins her on the coach.

Here is Cameron, believing herself to be completely hidden under the chair.

Cameron is developing her ability to stand up on just two legs. Here she is demonstrating her skills to lick from a tube of liquified meat.

Cameron looks out on the night from the bedroom window.

I love the way Diana looks in glasses…

In our new apartment, Leslie works at her desk surrounded by her children.

We love you, miss you, and look forward to seeing you in the spring!!
